The Vanguard University Lions Baseball Summer Prospect Camp is for all 15 to 18 years old and Junior College baseball players. It is a one-day event that will fall on the 17th of August. The program is set to run from 9 o’clock in the morning until 2 o’clock in the afternoon. Furthermore, this baseball prospect camp is going to take place at the state of the art Vanguard Baseball Field in Costa Mesa, California. The camp emphasizes helping the player’s master their hitting, pitching, catching, infield, and outfield skills. It includes a pro-style workout, bullpens, and games. In addition, the camp registration fee is $30 for pitchers and $60 for position players. There are only 40 spots available so registration is on a first come first served basis.

Rob Pegg, a native of Ontario, Canada, is the head coach of the Vanguard University Lions baseball team. Coach Rob Pegg is in his 6th year at the helm of the Lions baseball program. He is a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics graduate from Vanguard University. Ultimately, Coach Rob Pegg is a three-time National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Regional Coach of the Year awardee. He was also a former NAIA Scholar Athlete honoree and Vanguard’s 1996-1997 male athlete of the year. Coach Pegg is now holding a coaching win-loss record of 167-109-1. Then, the Vanguard University Lions assistant baseball coaches are Kevin Bettencourt, Ryan Heinle, and Michael Ostrea. All three assistant coaches are alumni of Vanguard University and are in their second season with the coaching staff. Coach Kevin Bettencourt is a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration graduate. Primarily, he is working with catchers and hitters. Coach Ryan Heinle is the team’s outfield instructor, pitching assistant, and first base coach. Meanwhile, Coach Michael Ostrea is working pitchers. Coach Ostrea is also currently completing his master’s degree in coaching/administration at Concordia University. Finally, the Vanguard Lions pitching consultant is Jordan Oseguera. He is also a Vanguard University graduate and is now in his sixth season with the coaching staff.
