The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Vaqueros Summer Showcase Camp is a single day program that will fall on the 19th of August. It is open to all male baseball players in high school up to junior college. This baseball showcase camp provides the participants an opportunity to display their skills in front of Division college coaches. In addition, this elite baseball showcase camp is going to take place at the state of the art Edinburg Stadium which is on the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley campus. Derek Matlock, a native of Fort Worth, Texas, is the head coach and pitching coach of the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Vaqueros baseball team. He is a bachelor’s degree in exercise and sports studies graduate from the University of Texas at Arlington. Coach Derek Matlock is also a master’s degree in education graduate from Texas Wesleyan University. Ultimately, Coach Matlock is a two-time Texas Collegiate League (TCL) Coach of the Year awardee. He is also a two-time District Coach of the Year and a one-time Fort Worth Star-Telegram Coach of the Year. Coach Derek Matlock is now holding an overall coaching win-loss record of 482-337. Then, the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Vaqueros assistant baseball coach is Russell Raley. He is at the same time the team’s recruiting coordinator and infielders coach. Coach Russell Raley, a South Texas native is a bachelor’s degree in human relation graduation from the University of Oklahoma. He is two-time Alaska Baseball League Coach of the Year awardee. Coach Raley is now entering his second season with the coaching staff. Finally, the Vaqueros volunteer assistant coach is Derek Hassell. He is also the team’s outfielders coach and camps coordinator. Coach Derek Hassell is a master’s degree in liberal arts graduate from Texas Christian University.
