The Towson University Tigers Baseball High School Prospect Camp is a two-day event that will run from August 25 until August 26. It is open to all boys 14 to 18 years of age who desire to play at the college level. This advanced baseball training program will take place at the state of the art John B. Schuerholz Park which is on the Towson University campus. Furthermore, this baseball prospect camp includes a defensive and offensive fundamentals instructions, baserunning, batting practice, scrimmages, a pro-style workout, and a college recruiting talk. Running this baseball training program is the Towson University Tigers coaching staff. In addition, the camp registration fee is $385. It includes lunch and a camp t-shirt.
Towson University, originally Maryland State Normal School, is a public, coeducational university in Towson, Maryland. It is a member of the University System of Maryland and is among the state of Maryland’s largest universities. Leading the Towson University Tigers is Head Coach Matt Tyner, a native of Decatur, Illinois. Coach Matt Tyner is a bachelor’s degree in business communications graduate from Concordia University. He is entering his first season at the helm of the Tigers baseball program. Additionally, Coach Tyner has coaching stints at the University of Richmond and Bellarmine University. He is also a former college baseball standout player. In fact, Coach Matt Tyner is the recipient of the 1980 Baskin Robbins Player of the Year Award. He is also the ninth round pick of the Baltimore Orioles in the 1980 Major League Baseball (MLB) Draft. Then, the Tigers assistant baseball coaches are Miles Miller and Tanner Biagini who are both entering their first season with the coaching staff. Coach Miles Miller is a bachelor’s degree graduate from San Diego Mesa College. He is also a master’s degree graduate from Grand Canyon University. At the same time, Coach Miles Miller is the team’s pitching coach. Coach Tanner Biagini, on the other hand, is a bachelor’s degree in psychology graduate from the Virginia Military Institute. He is the 2009 Amateur Player of the Year awardee. The Tigers volunteer assistant coach is Mickey Williard. And finally, Eric Franc is the Director of Player Development. Coach Franc is a master’s degree in curriculum instruction graduate from Lake Erie College.
