The University of Oklahoma will be holding its University of Oklahoma Sooners August Prospect Baseball Camp on August 18 and August 19. It is open to all high school male baseball players in the graduating classes of 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022. This baseball training program is going to take place at the L. Dale Mitchell Park, the home of the University of Oklahoma Sooners college baseball team. In addition, this baseball camp includes a 60-yard dash, pro-style workout, batting practice, and eye and hand coordination drills. It will also be a venue for outstanding baseball players to showcase their skills and gain recognition from the university’s recruiting staff. Furthermore, this two-day event will cost $250 for pitcher and position players and $325 for two-way players. This registration cost includes a baseball camp t-shirt. Running the event is the Sooners college baseball coaching staff.

University of Oklahoma Sooners August Prospect Baseball Camp Organizers
The head coach of the University of Oklahoma Sooners baseball team is Skip Johnson, a native of Denton, Texas. He is an alumnus of the University of Texas–Pan American. Coach Skip Johnson is also a master’s degree in education graduate from the University of Texas at Tyler. He is the Sooners former pitching coach. Additionally, Coach Skip Johnson is the former Navarro College head baseball coach. Then, the team’s assistant baseball coaches are Clay Overcash and Clay Van Hook. Both assistant coaches are in their first year with the coaching staff. Coach Clay Overcash is a native of Charlotte, North Carolina and an alumnus of the University of South Carolina Upstate. Coach Overcash is a former scout for the Chicago White Sox. Meanwhile, Coach Clay Van Hook hails from Brenham, Texas and a University of Texas alumnus. He is the former Rice University hitting coach. Coach Van Hook also has an assistant coaching stint at McNeese State University. The Sooners volunteer assistant coach is Evan Mistich, a native of Houma, Louisiana. He is a University of Oklahoma graduate with a bachelor’s degree in multidisciplinary studies.. And finally, Ryan Gaines is the director of baseball operations.
