The Baylor University Bears Elite Prospect Baseball Showcase Camp is an advanced baseball training program for grade 9 to grade 12 and junior college boys who desire to play at the college level. It is a full-day event that will run from 8:15 AM until 10:45 PM on the 10th of June. Its venue is the state of the art Baylor Park which is on Baylor University campus in Waco, Texas. Additionally, this baseball showcase camp includes a 60-yard dash, throwing, catching, and batting practice, and performance evaluation. There will also be a question and answer session with the university’s baseball coaching staff and current players. The registration fee is $125 for pitchers, $150 for position players, and $175 for two-way players. The participants need to bring their own baseball gears and equipment.

Steve Rodriguez an alumnus of Pepperdine University is the head coach of the Baylor University Bears baseball team. Coach Steve Rodriguez is a bachelor’s degree in public relations graduate. He is also a master’s degree in educational technology graduate from the same university. Ultimately, Coach Rodriguez is a three-time conference coach of the year awardee. The last award was the recent 2017 Big 12 Coach of the Year. Coach Steve Rodriguez is an inductee to the Pepperdine University Department of Athletics Hall of Fame. Then, the Baylor Bears assistant baseball coaches are Jon Strauss, Mike Taylor, and Ruben Noriega. Coach Jon Strauss is a bachelor’s degree in psychology graduate from Long Beach State University. He is now in his third season with the coaching staff. Coach Jon Strauss is at the same time the team’s pitching coach and recruiting coordinator. Meanwhile, Coach Mike Taylor, a native of Houston, Texas, is a bachelor’s degree in human performance graduate from Prairie View A&M University. He is also in his third season with the coaching staff. Finally, Coach Ruben Noriega, a bachelor’s in educational studies graduate from Lindenwood University is in his third year with the staff.
