Vanderbilt University will be holding its Vanderbilt University Commodores High School Prospect Baseball Camp from July 8 until July 12. This five-day overnight and commuter camp will take place at the premier Charles Hawkins Field, the home of the Vanderbilt Commodores baseball team. The event is open to all high school or middle school baseball players. In addition, the program focuses on fundamental skills development through drill work, individual position plays, and game plays. The program is going to maintain an 8:1 camper to staff ratio to ensure personalized coaching for every player. The registration fee for overnight campers is $595 and $495 for commuter campers. Accommodation for overnight campers will be at the Branscomb Quad. Furthermore, the program’s daily schedule is set to start at 7:30 AM and end 10:00 PM except on Day 5. It is important to note that the participants need to bring and be responsible for their own baseball gears and equipment. This event will be under the supervision of the Vanderbilt University Commodores baseball coaching staff and current players. The event is open for parents visits or viewing.

Leading the Vanderbilt University Commodores baseball team is Head Coach Tim Corbin. The 2018-2019 season will be his 16th year at the reins of the Commodores baseball program. He is a National Coach of the Year awardee, a Southeastern Conference Coach of the Year awardee, a College Baseball Insider and regional Coach of the Year awardee, a Vanderbilt Coach of the Year awardee, a National Assistant Coach of the Year awardee, and a South Atlantic Coach of the Year awardee. Ultimately under his guidance, the Commodores has already an NCAA National Tournament Title and a Conference Tournament title. Coach Tim Corbin is an alumnus of the Ohio Wesleyan University. Then, the Commodores associate head coach is Scott Brown, a native of Liverpool, New York. Coach Brown is now in his sixth season with the coaching staff. He is the 2004 New England Collegiate Baseball League Manager of the Year. The team’s hitting coach and at the same time recruiting coordinator is Mike Baxter. David Macias is the volunteer assistant coach, Chris Ham is the sports performance coach, and Tracy Campbell is the athletic trainer.
