University of Maine Black Bears Baseball Elite Summer Prospect Camp

The University of Maine Black Bears Baseball Elite Summer Prospect Camp is both a commuter and overnight camp that will run from August 2 to August 3. This baseball prospect camp is inviting all male baseball players 15 to 18 years of age who dream to play at the college level. The event is going to take place at the state of the art University of Maine Baseball Complex in Orono, Maine. Furthermore, this two-day program will include a pro-style workout, positional skills development sessions, a campus tour, a college recruitment talk, and games. The program will start at 12:00 PM on Day 1 and end at 4:00 PM on Day 2.
 
The University of Maine is a private, land-grant, sea-grant, space-grant university in Orono, Maine. It is the flagship of the University of Maine System. The university is part of the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU). It is also a member of the University of the Arctic (UArctic). Currently, the University of Maine’s undergraduate student population is around 9,300. 53 percent of this undergraduate student population are male students and 47 percent are female students. The university has 15 intercollegiate men’s and women’s athletics teams known as the Black Bears. They are playing in the  America East Conference of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I.
 

University of Maine Black Bears Baseball Elite Summer Prospect Camp Organizers

The head coach of the University of Maine Black Bears baseball team is Nick Derba, a native of College Point, New York. Coach Nick Derba is a bachelor’s degree in biology with a concentration in pre-med, and a double minor in psychology and chemistry graduate from Manhattan College. He is also an MBA graduate from the University of Maine. Coach Nick Derba is now entering his second season at the helm of the Black Bears baseball program. Additionally, Coach Derbas is the 31st round pick of the St. Louis Cardinals in the 2007 Major League Baseball (MLB) Draft. As a college player, he was also a three-time All-MAAC first team selection. Then, the University of Maine Black Bears assistant baseball coaches are Conor Burke and John Schiffner. Coach Conor Burke is at the same time the team’s recruiting coordinator. He is now in his third season with the Black Bears baseball coaching staff. Coach Burke is a bachelor’s degree in media studies graduate from Queens College. Meanwhile, Coach John Schiffner is a new addition to the Black Bears coaching staff. He is a Providence College alumnus with a degree in Social Studies- Education. Coach Schiffner is also a master’s in Human Relations graduate from Eastern Connecticut State University.
