Troy University Trojans Baseball Summer High School Prospect Camp

The Troy University Trojans Baseball Summer High School Prospect Camp is going to be held on the 13th of July. Its venue is the state of the art Riddle-Pace Field which is on the Troy University campus. This baseball prospect camp is inviting all high school aged boys who desire to play baseball at the college level. Furthermore, this baseball camp will cover hitting, catching, pitching, throwing, and baserunning drills. There will also be competitive games and skill evaluation. In addition, the camp is only providing 30 available spots, thus, registration is on a first come first served basis. This event is under the direction of the Troy University Trojans baseball coaching staff.
 
Troy University, formerly Troy State University, is a public, coeducational university in Troy, Alabama. It is a member of the Alabama Commission on Higher Education. The university as a whole has an accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). Currently, Troy University is serving a total of 14,243 undergraduate students. 40 percent of this undergraduate student population are male students and 60 percent are female students. This undergraduate student population is also through a selective enrollment acceptance rate of 91 percent. Correspondingly, Troy University’s student to faculty ratio is 15:1. Additionally, the university comprises five colleges, a graduate school, and a division of general studies. Troy University is a top-notch academic institution. As a matter of fact, it is 89th in the Regional Universities South category of the 2018 edition of the US News and World Reports Best Colleges rankings. The university is also 34th in Top Public Schools rankings. In sports, Troy University is competing in the Sun Belt Conference of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I as the Trojans. Cardinal, silver, and black are the Trojans’ identity colors. Moreover, the Troy Trojans baseball team has already six conference regular-season championships and three conference tournament titles.
 

Troy University Trojans Baseball Summer High School Prospect Camp Organizers

Leading the Troy University Trojans baseball team is Head Coach Mark Smartt. He is now entering his third season at the helm of the Trojans baseball program. Coach Mark Smartt is an alumnus of Troy University and was instrumental as a player in the university’s 1986 and 1987 NCAA Division II National titles. Coach Smartt was also a two-time All-Gulf South Conference selection during his college playing years. Then, the Trojans assistant baseball coach is Shane Gierke, a native of Apopka, Florida. Coach Shane Gierke is now entering his third season with the Trojans coaching staff. He is an alumnus and a former assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at the University of West Florida. Moreover, the Trojans director of baseball operations is John Rushing. He is now in his seventh season with the coaching staff. John Rushing is the former head coach and athletic director of the Tuscaloosa Academy. He is also the former Bevill State Community College assistant baseball coach and was part of their 2001 and 2003 Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC) State Championships. And finally, Peyton Fuller is the team’s volunteer assistant coach. He is a bachelor’s degree graduate from Troy University. Coach Peyton Fuller is now in his second season with the coaching staff.
