The University of Houston Cougars Baseball Summer Showcase Camp is inviting all high school freshmen up to junior college male baseball players. It is a three-day event that is going to run from the 3rd of August until the 5th of August. This baseball showcase camp will take place at the elite Darryl and Lori Schroeder Park which is in the University of Houston campus. In addition, this baseball camp aims at fine-tuning the participants’ individual skills. It includes a batting practice, an offensive and defensive workout, a 60-yard dash, and a pro-style workout. Moreover, the camp registration fee is $250 per player.

Leading the University of Houston Cougars baseball team is Head Coach Todd Whitting, a native of Dalhart, Texas. He is now entering his 9th year at the helm of the Cougars baseball program. Coach Todd Whitting is an alumnus of the University of Houston with a degree in kinesiology. Ultimately, Coach Whitting is a two-time American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Coach of the Year awardee. He is also the 2018 The American Coach of the Year awardee. He led the Cougars to three American Athletic Conference Championships and two American Athletic Tournament Championships. Then, the Cougars assistant baseball coaches are Terry Rooney, Ryan Shotzberger, and Caleb Barker. Coach Terry Rooney is now entering his second season with the coaching staff. Coach Terry Rooney who hails from Fairfax, Virginia, is a bachelor’s degree in social science graduate from Radford University. He is 2014 The American Coach of the Year awardee. Furthermore, Coach Ryan Shotzberger, a native of Wilmington, Delaware, is now entering his eighth season with the Cougars coaching staff. He is a McDaniel College graduate with a degree in exercise science. Finally, Coach Keller, Texas, who is originally from Keller, Texas, is a University of Houston graduate with a degree in organizational leadership and supervision with a minor in health.
