Old Dominion University Monarchs Baseball Showcase Camp

The Old Dominion University Monarchs Baseball Showcase Camp is a high-level and fast-paced baseball training program for boys 13 to 19 years of age. It is especially for those who desire to play at the college level. This baseball showcase will run from the 25th of August until the 26th of August. The venue of this event is the top-notch Bud Metheny Baseball Complex which is on the Old Dominion University campus. Furthermore, this two-day baseball camp will run from 9 o’clock in the morning until 5 o’clock in the afternoon on both days. It will be under the direction of the Old Dominion University Monarchs baseball coaching staff. Registration is on a first come first served basis.
 
Old Dominion University is a public, coeducational, research, space-grant, and sea-grant university in Norfolk, Virginia. Formerly, Old Dominion College, Old Dominion University is a member of the Southeastern Universities Research Association. The university is also part of the Coalition of Urban and Metropolitan Universities. It has an accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. Among its other accreditations are from Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET for its Batten College of Engineering and Technology. Correspondingly, the university’s student to faculty ratio is 18:1. In athletics, the university fields its collegiate sports teams in the Conference USA of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I. Old Dominion University Monarchs Baseball Showcase Camp Organizers

Leading the Old Dominion University Monarchs baseball team is Head Coach Chris Finwood, a native of Hampton, Virginia. The Virginia Military Institute alumnus is now in his seventh year at the helm of the Monarchs baseball program. Ultimately, Coach Chris Finwood is the 2017 VaSID Coach of the Year awardee. He is also the 2014 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) East Region Coach of the Year and the 2009 Sun Belt Conference Coach of the Year. Coach Chris Finwood is also an inductee into the VMI Athletics Hall of Fame. Then, the Old Dominion University Monarchs assistant baseball coaches are Mike Marron and Logan Robbins. Coach Mike Marron, a native of Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania, is now in his third season with the coaching staff. He is a  College of the Holy Cross graduate and was the college baseball team’s Most Valuable Player in 2003. Coach Marron is also the 2008 New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) Coach of the Year. Similarly, Coach Logan Robbins who hails from Owensboro, Kentucky, is also in his third season with the Monarch coaching staff. He is a bachelor’s degree in education graduate from Western Kentucky University. Finally, the team’s volunteer assistant coach is Victor Diaz.
